Steve Landfield  Secretary

A New Jersey native and Hudson County resident, Steve has an extensive background in environmental health safety and safety training and gives hundreds of hours a year to volunteer work.

He is a Supervisor for Hudson & Essex County with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, and together with fellow team members, he provides Red Cross emergency assistance for temporary lodging, food, clothing and other immediate needs to people who have been affected by fires, floods or other disasters in northern and central Jersey. As of the date of this bio, he has responded to almost 100 disaster events and assisted many hundreds of people. He is also part of the North Shelter Strike Team, helping set up and run Red Cross shelters when needed, such as after the recent floods in Passaic County and in the Town of Passaic, where two buildings collapsed, and the residents needed temporary shelter. He is also a Disaster Workforce Instructor for the Red Cross.

Steve is a FEMA Certified Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Team Trainer and Program Manager and has been a member of various CERT Teams since 2013.

He is an Industry Skills Instructor for Thomas Shortman Training Fund, 32BJ SEIU - Training building superintendents to assess and remove deteriorated lead paint hazards pursuant to EPA/HUD & Visual Assessment/NYC Local Law 1, regulating lead paint hazards in NYC multiple dwelling units, as well as doing training in Mold & Asbestos Awareness, Bedbug Awareness, Carbon Monoxide Law Compliance, Chemical Safety in the Workplace, Integrated Pest Management, Heat & Hot Water and How to Manage Renovation Projects for NYC building superintendent and worker training.

He is a Principal Instructor with Environmental Education Associates (EEA) & Zota Professional Training, where he teaches the EPA/HUD lead paint safety Renovation, Repair & Painting Certification training. He is an EPA Certified Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessor. Through EEA he also taught the EPA Lead Inspector course to NYC HPD Housing Inspectors. He was a Lead Compliance Consultant for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) with UNYSE Environmental Consultants, performing compliance observation of lead abatement and lead renovation activities being done at NYCHA facilities.

 Steve is also an Instructor in Mold Remediation Methods & Inspection for New York City Housing Authority Classes for Environmental Education Associates and a Licensed NYS Mold Remediation Supervisor.
